Mona Lisa's new hair-do does wonders

WHO would've thought that a new 'do would cut 20 years off the Mona Lisa's face. Thanks to a Chinese university student and the wonders of Photoshop, we can get some idea of what Leonardo Da Vinci's infamous muse may have looked like in her youth. The conclusion: damn! There has been no virtual slimming or decreasing of wrinkles. The only thing changed by the Photoshop whiz was Mona Lisa's hair (and for some reason he decided also to replace the background with something a little more rugged mountain looking). But the new hairdo took years off. The photo - which was posted on Chinese photo sharing site, TT.Mop.com - may have been an homage to an earlier version of The Mona Lisa. (Or not). "There were two Mona Lisa paintings?" you ask. Yes indeed, back in September the Mona Lisa Foundation revealed what a young Mona Lisa may have looked like by releasing a version of the famous painting that was thought to have been painted years earlier. The image, known as the Isleworth Mona Lisa had reportedly sat locked in a Swiss vault for more than 40 years. It appears the foundation released it as part of its mission to prove that dear old Mona posed more than once for Da Vinci. Here are the images side-by-side:
